Really it was for the final judges to be forced to read my pages, if I finaled.<br /><br />I did end up getting a request for the full from the agent judge and some great comments from the editor. I really wanted feedback to know that this book was something I could sell and had the right 'hook' before I finished it.<br /><br />I don't really like entering a bunch of contests just to see if I can win...or win repeatedly. Why spend $30 a pop for that?<br /><br />Good luck with your contest, though. I've never heard of a writer using a contest in quite that way before... I’ve only entered a few contests. I did end up getting a request for the full from the agent judge and some great comments from the editor. I really wanted feedback to know that this book was something I could sell and had the right ‘hook’ before I finished it.
