I'm sorry to hear about the R...it is tough. I've got a book I'm shopping at the moment, and boy is it discouraging...especially as I didn't garner an agent for this and am shopping it alone.

You are a wonderful writer - don't give up!

Thanks for the cheerleading and kind words, everyone. And Maggie, congrats on your latest sale!

I still haven completely decided what to do with UNASHAMED, but I'm sure I'll eventually do what's right. (I almost typed "what's write." Freudian slip?)

Take care and thanks again.

I just sent a proposal out. I love my people. I want to write them. But if they get tossed off the battlements (sorry, there's a castle involved), I don't have time to love them---I'll have to love brand new people who are due next February.

But I agree with Booklover that if you do have the time, and you do love your people, finish them, or recycle them somehow. One of the pivotal scenes in Tempting Eden comes right from the very first thing I ever wrote (when I switched POV paragraph by paragraph, LOL). This writing stuff is so much more complex than civilans realize. But you are a wonderful writer, and you will prevail.

Hi Jackie,
In my opinion you should finish Unashamed, then close the "book" on it, and maybe in a few years pull it out and submit it again.

I read somewhere that Julia Quinn first wrote The Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever in 1994, and it was rejected universally. After several years she pulled it out, polished it up resubmitted and was a NYT bestseller.

Just because it is rejected today, does not mean that it would be rejected in the future. Heck look at JK Rowling. She's laughing all the way to the bank now! Don't quit the book, finish and love what you were able to create!!!
