You are always so optimistic about people's marketing brilliance. IMO it's a toss-up. Either they did it on purpose knowing the jokes and talking that would come about (and hey, that's a possibility given the way they've handled this unveiling, people were spreading rumors about this back when it could have just been imaginary) OR maybe they were too close to it and they were just thinking about the iPod thing and not making any kind of connection to female blood-stopping devices. It's possible everybody in that marketing meeting was male and single and therefore the words "pad" and "tampon" are erased from their entire mental landscape. As for the price, Tom and I were expecting it to be around a thousand bucks, so $499 seems much cheaper. It's fairly price comparable with the Kindle DX. LOL @ ipad.
