Historical and Contemporary Romance Author

I Am Not a “Fake Author”…

…but neither do I share all the trials and tribulations of my writer life in public. I will grouse a bit if writing is not going well, I will mope about rejections, I will even show you my royalty statement (even when it isn’t exactly flattering). Nonetheless, there are a lot of things I can’t and won’t say because, yes, I want to play nice. I want to be liked and, above all, to be perceived as a professional (even if my paychecks are more on the amateur side of the scale, lol).

You can rest assured that everything I say on my blog and online is a true representation of my thoughts and feelings. But, by the same token, if I can’t say anything about a subject without getting upset or angry, then I generally don’t say anything at all. I may have thoughts and feelings I don’t share, but I don’t believe in burning bridges–even when I’m not sure the bridge is ever one I want to cross again.

And if you don’t know what current kerfuffle in Romancelandia inspired this post, you don’t need to know :).

P.S. I AM happily married with three kids and an assortment of pets. My husband’s resemblance to a romance hero is purely coincidental, however.

LOL! Yeah, sometimes it’s just better to back away from the keyboard. Used to be, even if I didn’t wade into the fray, I would at least compulsively read comments involving the latest kerfuffle du jour. Now though? I’m just too dang old. Plus it’s a rare kerfuffle that is actually “unique” to me these days, and not one I’ve seen hashed out online ad nauseam. A sure sign that I’m older than dirt in terms of the online romance reading community.

My solution is to bury my head in the sand and talk about books. Shiny, shiny books. What’s not to love about those?

Now I feel clueless, but I’m okay with that. Sorry you had a kerfuffle to deal with. Yay for being happily married to a hot hubby and for having kids & pets to distract you. =o)

The rest is all fluff and flurry signifying bleh.
